Jaisu Shipping Company Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in The Companies Act, 1956 (India), in 1987. The entire shareholding rights are with the Kewalramani family. The Board of Directors are as follows:

The parent partnership firms for Jaisu Shipping Company Pvt. Ltd. are M/S Jaisu and Company and M/S G. C. Kewalramani. These firms, having all the above partners, are doing business since 1951 at Kandla and other ports in Gujarat. Jaisu’s activities have grown to cover nearly all the fields of Shipping; for instance:

In addition to its proficiency in shipping, Jaisu :
• Was the first to install and operate two container-handling gantries and yard trainers in the year 1986 at Kandla Port;
• procured its first sea-going crew boat “Noorani Sea Horse” (Ex: Gomba Sea Horse)
• Is the owner of many Indian flag sea-going crafts that are free from any liens or encumbrances;
• owns and manages over twenty inland barges and eight inland tugs that are also suitable for lighterage of containers from offshore to the port.
• Employs over 500 experienced staff (Indians and foreign nationals) working at Kandla Port on various crafts, dry dock, workshops, etc.
• Is the only Indian company trading in bunkers at all ports in Gujarat and supplying bunkers from Kandla to vessels anchored/berthed at all major Ports in Gujarat;
• Supplies bunkers from one port to ships at other ports—a one-of-a-kind activity in Asia;
• Owns and operates Floating Dry Dock at Kandla
• In-house repairs of all crafts by Jaisu employees at Jaisu’s own ship-repair yard;
• Owns and charters high-capacity dredgers in India and undertakes dredging jobs since the last fifteen years
• Has recently undertaken and completed major dredging contracts in many Indian ports;
• Has procured the esteemed work of Capital Dredging Works for the Offshore Container Terminal Project worth INR 3.8 billion for Mumbai Port Trust through a competitive international bidding process involving other dredging companies such as Van Oord.

In order to undertake large dredging projects, a new company was instituted during 2000–2001 in the name of Jaisu Dredging and Shipping Limited with its registered office at Room No. 1 and 2, Kewalramani House, Dinshaw Building Road, New Kandla—370 210, India, having an authorized capital of INR 20 million.
