Jaisu Shipping Company Pvt Ltd maintains a survey team and all the required equipments for its own dredging projects. The personnel appointed by Jaisu Shipping Company are ex-navy personnel who have over 20 years of experience. Marine Survey department play a very vital role in the field of dredging and more importantly for Jaisu Shipping Company Pvt Ltd. Survey department of Jaisu Shipping Company is equipped with modern, highly sophisticated and very advanced survey vessels. Equipments and instruments such as GPS, DGPS for positing which achieve sub meter accuracy in the horizontal plane are just few of the highlights. Echo sounders i.e. bathy 1500 dual frequency, Odem and Raytheon single frequency etc. which can provide a better accuracy than .1 meter in vertical column are also the part of the survey equipment.

For the measurement of vertical movement of sea an automatic tide gauge (Vale port 740) is used which works on the principle of acoustic pressure and provides accuracy to 1 cm.

All care and precautions are taken to achieve and maintain quality of work. Before the dredging is started and after the dredging is completed, a joint survey is carried out with representatives of the Client, Consultant and the Contractor to determine the original ground/seabed surface.

All equipments and instruments are calibrated periodical by competent authority and site calibration is also carried out before starting the survey/work. The main responsibilities of Survey department are monitor the day to day dredging/reclamation work; prepare the drawings using software such as Hydropro, Terramodel and AutoCAD. To compute volume using excel with the widely used Simpson's rule to prepare interim and final payment certificate for submission to client.

while following all the rules and regulations and finally playing a big role in ending the Oil Crisis at Kandla Port.
