KAMAL XXVII — Jaisu’s largest-hopper-capacity trailing suction hopper dredger—is one of the gems of our fleet. The vessel has undergone major reconstruction after being recently added to our fleet. KAMAL XXVII is presently working for the capital and maintenance dredging contract with Cochin Port under an eight-month contract. The satisfactory progress of this work is an insight into the worth of this gem of a vessel.

Major Works Undertaken by Jaisu for KAMAL XXVII:

• Completely new deck was added on top of the house under IRS regulations, which is now being used as the bridge.
• Old and outdated operation and navigational facilities on the bridge were replaced.
• Hopper capacity was increased by adding additional plates.
• Fully working machine shop was commissioned.
• Fixed and semi-portable firefighting systems were installed.
• Heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) facilities were installed as a centralized system.
• Major replacement of the pipelines was undertaken.
• Overhaul was carried out for the draghead steering and propeller systems.
• A previously installed generator was repaired.
